THE FELICIAN SISTERS OF NORTH AMERICA ANNOUNCE THE TRANSFER OF THE LADYWOOD HIGH SCHOOL PROPERTY TO MADONNA UNIVERSITY
The Felician Sisters of North America are pleased to announce that the former Ladywood High School property will be transferred to Madonna University effective immediately. This decision followed a process that invited qualified, experienced and professionally accredited individual(s), organization(s), agency(ies) or nonprofit corporation(s) who were interested in acquiring all or a part of the property to submit proposals. Interested parties were informed that preference would be given to either a Felician-Sponsored Ministry, a Catholic-sponsored ministry, or an educational nonprofit corporation.
“We are honored and blessed that our proposal for the Ladywood Complex was selected,” said Madonna President Michael A. Grandillo, Ph.D. “We are grateful, indeed, to receive such a valuable treasure from the Felician Sisters. Just a stone’s throw from Madonna’s other buildings and our Felician partner ministries, this beautiful facility affords us the space to expand some of our key programs. We will continue to carry forward the legacy of the Felician Sisters, and we plan to use some space to honor Ladywood High School,” he said.
In addition to the Madonna University proposal, two other proposals were received and reviewed. On June 13, 2018, both submitting organizations were informed that their proposals were not being considered thereby enabling them to seek alternative sites for their respective programs.
